MBA Executive Management Board member Peter Elikann was interviewed about the release of documents alleging that Karen Read shared information about her murder case with Turtleboy blogger Aidan Kearney. 

  • "Hospital can seek COVID losses under contagious disease rider," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (Jan. 29). MBA member Michael F. Aylward commented on a 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that a hospital could seek coverage under a health care endorsement in its property policy for alleged losses related to its compliance with COVID-19 decontamination orders.

  • "Attorneys: ‘Mattis’ to have impact beyond those newly eligible for parole," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (Jan. 29). The MBA's amicus brief filed in the Supreme Judicial Court case of Commonwealth v. Mattis was mentioned in an article about the impact of the decision, which established that sentences of life without parole for adults under age 21 are unconstitutional.

Klein discussed an upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision pertaining to the standard of judicial review for regulatory action by federal agencies, as prescribed under the Chevron Doctrine.

  • "Diocese fights city to remove stained-glass windows," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (Jan. 29). MBA member Harvey A. Silverglate discussed a legal battle between a Catholic diocese and Northampton city officials who claim that stained-glass windows can't be removed from a closed parish because they are historical artifacts.
