  • "Bar: SJC’s anti-SLAPP ruling will clarify, simplify litigation," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (March 11). MBA member Mark S. Furman discussed the impact of the Supreme Judicial Court's new decision regarding anti-SLAPP motions. 

  • "Liability carrier can’t recoup defense, settlement costs from insured," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (March 11). MBA member Praven Shenoy and MBA Judicial Administration Section Council member Thomas R. Murphy commented on a 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that a unilateral reservation of rights was insufficient for a liability insurer to recoup defense and settlement costs for a personal injury claim that was later found not to be covered under the policy.

  • "New committee aims to streamline use of recently released clemency guidelines," Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly (March 11). Hon. Robert J. Cordy (ret.) and Patricia A. DeJuneas, who served on the MBA's Clemency Task Force, were quoted in an article about a new committee formed by the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to help implement clemency guidelines recently issued by Gov. Maura Healey. The guidelines incorporate many changes proposed by the MBA Clemency Task Force in its 2021 report.
