Casner & Edwards partner Anita S. Lichtblau, a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, spoke at the Providers' Council's 49th Annual Convention & Expo on Oct. 21. Her workshop, “Legal and Financial Update and Best Practices,” covered a Uniform Financial Report update; best practices for boards facing a crisis; new Fair Labor Standards Act regulations on overtime exemptions; and implications on employment practices, DEI programs, and grantmaking of recent judicial decisions.
Lichtblau advises nonprofit organizations on a wide variety of legal issues, including formation of organizations and application for tax-exempt status, maintenance of tax-exempt status, governance, lobbying and political activity. She specializes in the creation of corporate policies, employment matters and government and private grants and contracts. Lichtblau is a former co-chair of the Boston Bar Association Tax-Exempt Organization Section and a member of the Board of Directors of the Rebecca Pomroy Foundation.
